아일랜드인, 멕시코인, 앨라배마 얼간이, 이렇게 셋이서 건축 공사장 20 층의 비계발판 위에서 작업하고 있었다. 점심도시락을 먹다가 아일랜드인이 말했다, "쇠고기조림에 양배추라! 도시락에 한 번만 더 쇠고기조림과 양배추를 넣어주면 이 건물에서 뛰어내려 버릴 테야."
멕시코인이 자기 도시락을 열더니 소리쳤다, "또 부리토[고기와 치즈를 넣고 구운 옥수수빵 = 역자 주]네. 다시 한 번만 부리토를 싸 주면 나역시 뛰어내려 버리겠어."
앨러배마 얼간이가 자기 도시락을 열고 말했다, "또 볼로냐[대형 훈제 소시지 = 역자 주]로군. 한 번만 더 볼로냐 샌드위치를 싸왔다가는 나도 뛰어내려 버려야지."
이튿날 - 아일랜드인이 도시락을 열고 쇠고기졸임과 양배추를 보더니 뛰어내려 죽어버렸다. 멕시코인이 자기 도시락을 열어 부리토를 보더니 역시 뛰어내렸다. 앨러배마 얼간이가 자기 도시락을 열고 볼로냐를 보고는 역시 뛰어내려 죽었다.
장례식장에서 - 아일랜드인의 아내가 울며 말했다, "남편이 쇠고기졸임과 양배추를 그토록 지겨워하는줄 알았더라면 다시 그걸 싸주지는 않았으련만!"
멕시코인 아내도 울면서 말했다, "타코빵[야채나 고기를 넣은 옥수수빵]이나 엔칠라다[고추 양념 요리]를 싸 줄 수도 있었는데,저는 그이가 부리토를 그렇게 싫어하는 줄은 정말 몰랐어요."
모두 고개를 돌려 앨러배마 얼간이의 미망인을 주목하였다. "이봐요, 날 쳐다보실 것 없어요," 그녀가 말했다, "그이는 (항상) 손수 도시락을 만든다고요!"

RedNeck Lunch
An Irishman, a Mexican and an Alabama redneck were doing construction work on scaffolding on the 20th floor of a building. They were eating lunch and the Irishman said, " Corned beef and cabbage! If I get corned beef and cabbage one more time for lunch I'm going to jump off this building."
The Mexican opened his lunch box and exclaimed, "Burritos again! If I get burritos one more time I'm going to jump off, too."
The Alabama redneck opened his lunch and said, "Bologna again. If I get a bologna sandwich one more time I'm jumping too."
Next day - The Irishman opens his lunch box, sees corned beef and cabbage and jumps to his death. the Mexican opens his lunch, sees a burrito and jumps too. The Alabama redneck opens his lunch, sees the bologna and jumps to his death also.
At the funeral - The Irishman's wife is weeping. She says, "If I'd known how really tired he was of corned beef and cabbage, I never would have given it to him again!"
The Mexican's wife also weeps and says " I could have given him two tacos or enchiladas! I didn't realize he hated burritos so much."
Everyone turned and stared at the Alabama redneck's wife. "Hey, don't look at me," she said, "He makes his own lunch!"
