교황과 변호사

한 번은 한 교황과 한 변호사가 죽어서천국에 갔다. 하느님께서 오시더니 말씀하셨다, "너희의 방을 줄 테니 날 따라오거라." 

그래서 그들은 함께 따라갔다. 하느님께선 먼저 교황에게 방을 주셨는데, 작은 침대와 작은 탁자가 있는 매우 작은 방이었다.

"감사하고도 감사하나이다, 주님," 교황이 말했다.

그 다음에 하느님께서는 변호사에게 방을 주셨는데, 커다란 침대에 커다란 탁자에 수영장과 예쁜 여인까지 딸린 커다란 방이었다.

"신이여, 어째서 내게는 이 모든 것을 주시고 교황에게는 저런 조그만 방을 주시는 겁니까?

"그건 말이지, 여기에 교황들이야 수십 명이나 있지만, 글쎄, 변호사라곤 네가 처음이거든."

Popes and Lawyers

Once a Pope and a lawyer died and they went to heaven. So God came and said, 'Follow me and I will give you your rooms.' 

So they both followed. First God gave the Pope his room. It was very small with a small bed and a small desk.

'Thank you, thank you my lord,' said the Pope.

Then God gave the lawyer his room, it was big room with a big bed and a big desk with a pool and pretty woman.

'Mr.God, why do you give all this to me and just that small room to the Pope?'

'Well, popes, we have them by the dozens, and lawyers, well, your the first one.'
