세 가지 교훈을 주는 이야기

작은 새 한 마리가 겨울을 나러 남으로 날아가다가 혹심한 추위에 얼어서 넓은 벌판에 떨어졌다. 새가 누워 있는데, 웬 소가 다가와서 그 위에다 똥을 누고 갔다. 쇠똥 더미 아래에 누워 있던 언 새는 따뜻함을 느끼기 시작했다. 실로 똥이 그 새를 녹여 주고 있었다! 새는 따뜻함과 행복에 겨워 그대로 누워 있으면서 곧 기쁨의 노래를 부르기 시작하였다.

지나가던 고양이가 새의 노래를 듣고 무슨 일인지 살펴보러 왔다. 노래 소리가 끝나자, 고양이는 쇠똥 더미 밑에서 새를 찾아내고는 재빨리 파내서 먹어 버렸다!

이 얘기가 주는 교훈은; 1. 당신 위에 똥을 눈다고 모두 다 적은 아니다.

                                  2. 당신을 똥 더미로부터 꺼내 준다고 모두 다 아군은 아니다.

                                  3. 깊은 똥에 묻혀 있을 때는 입을 닥치고 있으라.

A Tale With Three Morals

A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold, the bird froze and fell to the ground in a large field. While it was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on it.

As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, it began to realize how warm it was. The dung was actually thawing him out! He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy.

A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate. Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him!

The morals of this story:

Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy.

Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your friend.

And when you're in deep shit, keep your mouth shut.
