동물원의 캥거루 한 마리가 자꾸만 우리 밖에 나와 있었다. 캥거루가 높이뛰기를 잘 한다는 걸 아는지라, 동물원 관리인들은 10 피트 높이의 울타리를 쳤다. 다음날 아침에도 그 녀석은 밖에 나와서, 주변을 어슬렁거리고 있었다. 20 피트 높이의 울타리를 쳤다. 그래도 그녀석은 나와 있었다.

 

울타리 높이가 40 피트나 됐을 때, 옆 우리에 있는 낙타가 캥거루에게 물었다, "울타리가 얼마나 높아져야 할 것 같니?"

 

캥거루가 말했다, "아마 1000 피트쯤, 밤에 누가 문을 걸어잠그지 않는 한!"

Kangaroo Fence

 

A kangaroo kept getting out of his enclosure at the zoo. Knowing that he could hop high, the zoo officials put up a ten-foot fence. He was out the next morning, just sauntering around the zoo. A twenty-foot fence was put up. Again he go out.

 

When the fence was forty feet high, a camel in the next enclosure asked the kangaroo, "How high do you think they'll go?"

 

The kangaroo said, "About a thousand feet, unless somebody locks the gate at night!"
