어떤 사람이 죽어서 심판을 받으러 갔다. 성 베드루가 천국의 문 앞에서 그를 맞이하며 말했다, "그대가 하느님을 만나뵙기 전에, 먼저 이 말부터해 줘야할 것 같아-- 우린 그대의 생애를 주욱 살펴보았는데, 그대는 뭐 특별히 착한 일이나 나쁜 일을 한 것이 없었단 말이야. 그대를 어떻게 대우해야할지 도통 아리송해. 우리의 결정에 도움이 될만한 그대의 행적을 한 가지라도 이야기해 줄 수 있겠나?

새로 도착한 영혼은 잠시 생각하더니 대답하였다, "예, 한 번은 제가 차를 몰다가 오토바이족 떼거리들에게 괴롭힘을 당하고 있던 한 여자와 마주친 적이 있습니다. 그래서 저는 차를 세우고, 타이어 체인(쇠줄)을 꺼내들고, 그 폭주족의 두목에게 다가갔습니다. 그는 덩치가크고, 근육질에, 털투성이인 온몸에는 문신을 하고, 코에 구멍을 뚫어 코걸이까지 한 녀석이었습니다.

그래서, 저는 그 녀석의 코걸이를 나꿔채어 떼어버리고, 그 녀석과 패거리들에게, 그 여자를 괴롭히는 짓을 그만두지 않았다가는 내가 상대해 주겠노라고 말했지요!"

"감동적이군," 성 베드루가 반응하였다, "그게 언제였지?"

"약 2분 전이었어요."

Before You Meet With God

A man died and went to The Judgment. St. Peter met him at the Gates of Heaven and said, "Before you meet with God, I thought I should tell you -- we've looked at your life, and your really didn't do anything particularly good or bad. We're not at all sure what to do with you. Can you tell us anything you did that can help us make a decision?"

The newly arrived soul thought for a moment and replied, "Yeah, once I was driving along and came upon a woman who was being harassed by a group of bikers. So I pulled over, got out my tire iron, and went up to the leader of the bikers. He was a big, muscular, hairy guy with tattoos all over his body and a ring pierced through his nose.

Well, I tore the nose ring out of his nose, and told him he and his gang had better stop bothering the woman or they would have to deal with me!"

"I'm impressed," St. Peter responded, "When did this happen?"

"About two minutes ago," came the reply.
