그래서 또 다시 존은 사과를 하고, 그 사실을 깜박 모르고 있었다며, 내일 날이 밝으면 최우선으로 면허증 갱신부터 처리하겠노라고 말했다.

제시카가 말했다, "당신 운전면허 기간이 끝났다는 주 정부의 통지서를 받았다고 내가 일 주일 전에 알려 주었건만."

이쯤 되자, 존은 경찰 앞에서 자기를 반박해대는 아내에게 슬쩍 화가 치밀어 좀 큰 소리로 말했다, "제시카, 입 좀 닥쳐!"

그러자 경찰은 제시카 쪽으로 몸을 굽히며 물었다. "부군께서는 부인께 늘 저런 투로 말씀하시나요?"

John and Jessica were on their way home from the bar one night and John got pulled over by the police. The officer told John that he was stopped because his tail light was burned out. John said, "I'm very sorry officer, I didn't realize it was out, I'll get it fixed right away."

Just then Jessica said, "I knew this would happen when I told you two days ago to get that light fixed."

So the officer asked for John's license and after looking at it said, "Sir your license has expired."

And again John apologized and mentioned that he didn't realize that it had expired and would take care of it first thing in the morning.

Jessica said, "I told you a week ago that the state sent you a letter telling you that your license had expired."

Well by this time, John is a bit upset with his wife contradicting him in front of the officer, and he said in a rather loud voice, "Jessica, shut your mouth!"

The officer then leaned over toward Jessica and asked. "Does your husband always talk to you like that?"

Jessica replied, "only when he's drunk."
