댄은 개를 싫어한다. 지긋지긋하게 싫어한다. 어느 날 아침, 댄이 차를 몰고 어떤 붐비는 도로를 가다가, 놀랍게도 웬 사나이가 죽어라 달리고 있는데 그 뒤를 커다란 개 두 마리가 쫓고 있는 걸 목격하였다. 

"저 사람을 구해 줄 수밖에," 댄은 그렇게 생각하고 차를 가속하여 그 사람 곁으로 다가가서 차창을 내리고 소리쳤다, "어서 타세요!" 

"고맙습니다!" 그 사람이 차 문을 열면서 말했다, "개 두 마리를 데리고 차를 얻어타는 건 항상 어렵더라고요!"

Dan hated dogs, he hated them with a passion. One morning Dan was driving his car down a busy street when to his surprise he saw ahead of him a fellow running full force with 2 big dogs after him. 

“ I’ve just got to save this guy”, thought Dan, and with that he quickly sped up along side of him, rolled down his window, and screamed “hurry, hop in!” 

“Thanks!” said the fellow opening the door, “it’s always hard for me to get a ride when I have my two dogs with me!”
