어떤라디오 방송에 나온 얘기인데, 오리건 주의 한 중학교가 희한한 문제에 처했었단다. 많은 여학생들이 립스틱을 사용하기 시작하여 화장실에서 그것을 입술에 바르는데..., 거기까진 괜찮다지만, 여학생들이 립스틱을 바른 후 거울에 입술을 눌러 입술자국을 수십 개 씩이나 찍어 놓는다는 것이다.
결국, 교장선생님은모종의 조치를 취하기로 결정하고, 여학생들을 모두 화장실에 집합시켰다.

거기에 관리인을 데려다 놓고, 교장선생님은 그 모든 입술자국들 때문에 매일 밤 거울을 청소하는 관리인 아저씨가 몹씨 힘들어하신다고 설명하였다.

거울을 닦는 일이 얼마나 힘든지를 보여주기 위하여, 교장선생님은 관리인에게 거울 하나를 청소해 보도록 시켰다. 관리인은 긴 손잡이가 달린 걸레를 꺼내어 변기 속 물에 적시더니 거울을 닦는 것이었다.

그 후로는 거울에 입술자국이 생기지 않았다.

Kissing the mirror

According to a radio report, a middle school in Oregon was faced with a unique problem. A number of girls were beginning to use lipstick and would put it on in the bathroom. That was fine, but after they put on their lipstick they would press their lips to the mirror leaving dozens of little lip prints.
Finally, the principal decided that something had to be done. She called all the girls to the bathroom to meet them.

There with the maintenance man, she explained that all these lip prints were causing a major problem for the custodian who had to clean the mirrors every night.

To demonstrate how difficult it was to clean the mirrors, she asked the maintenance guy to clean one of the mirrors. He took out a long handled squeegee, dipped it into the toilet and then cleaned the mirror.

Since then there have been no lip prints on the mirror.
