내가 한 금발 친구와 함께 거리를 어슬렁거리고 있는데, 웬 여자가 한 쪽 코걸이와 한 쪽 귀걸이를 체인으로 연결한 치장을 하고 우리 곁을 지나가고 있었다. 

내 친구 왈, "저 여자가 고개를 돌릴 때마다 저 체인이 끊어져 나가지 않을까?" 

난 사람이 고개를 아무리 돌리더라도 코와 귀 사이의 거리는 일정하게 유지된다는 사실을 설명해주어야 하였다.

I was hanging out with a blonde friend of mine when we saw a woman walk by us with a nose ring attached to an earring by a chain. 

My friend said, "Wouldn't the chain rip out every time she turned her head?" 

I had to explain to her that a person's nose and ear remain the same distance apart no matter which way the head is turned.
