꼬마 쟈니가 해변길을 걷고 있다가, 백사장 비치파라솔 아래에 있는 한 나이 지긋한 여인을 발견하였다.

쟈니가 그녀에게로 다가가서 물었다, "아줌마는 주일마다 교회에 다니시나요?"

"그래," 그녀가 대답하였다.

"기도를 자주 하시나요?" 소년이 연거푸 묻자, 그녀가 또 대답하였다, "그래."

"십계명을 알고 계시나요?"

"응, 알아," 그녀가 웃으며 대답하였다.

"그 계명들을 모두 지키시나요?" 쟈니가 물었다.

그녀가 끄덕이며 말했다, "응, 지켜."

그러자 그는 마지막 질문을 하였다, "제가 수영하러 가 있는 동안저의 1 불 짜리 돈 좀맡아 주시겠어요?"

On The Beach

Little Johnny was walking down the beach, and as he did so, he saw a matronly woman sitting under a beach umbrella on the sand.

He walked up to her and asked, "Do you go to church every week?"

"Yes," she replied.

"Do you pray often?" the boy asked next, and again she answered, "Yes."

"Do you know the Ten Commandments?"

"Yes, I do," she answered, with a smile.

"Do you keep them all?" Johnny asked.

She nodded her head, "Yes, I do." she said.

With that he asked his final question, "Will you hold my dollar while I go swimming?"
