"왜 그러니, 귀염둥이야?" 목사가 물었다.
"내 인형을! 빌리가 망가뜨렸어요!" 꼬마가 흐느꼈다.
"그 아이가 인형을 어떻게 망가뜨린 거니, 에밀리?"
"내가 인형으로 그 녀석 대갈통을 때린 거예요."

Little Emily, the minister's daughter, ran into the house, crying as though her heart would break.
"What's wrong, dear?" asked the pastor.
"My doll! Billy broke it!" she sobbed.
"How did he break it, Emily?"
