흡혈귀 둘이서 식사하러 외출하고 싶었는데, 어디로 가는 게 좋을지 꽤나 고민이었다. 맨날 자기네 트랜실배니어 동네만 다니며 먹는 게 좀 지겨워져서 뭔가 약간 이국적인 것을 먹고 싶었다.
잠시 의논 끝에, 그들은 이탈리아 음식이 진짜 근사하다는 소문이 있으니 거기에 가기로 결정했다. 그래서 그들은 이탈리아로 가서 베니스에 도착했다.

그들은 한 운하의 다리 위 그늘에 숨어서 저녁식사 깜을 기다렸다. 몇 분 후, 한 쌍의 젊은이가 걸어오고 있는 게 보였다. 그들이 가까이 다가오자 흡혈귀들은 행동을 개시하여 각기 한 사람씩 붙잡아 피를모조리 빨고, 남은 몸뚱이들을 다리 아래로 던져 버렸다.

너무 맛이 좋았으므로 흡혈귀들은 한차례 더 먹기로 했다. 몇 분 뒤 또 젊은 커플이 와서 피를 다 빨리고 운하에 던져지는 신세가 되었다.

우리의 흡혈귀들은 이제어지간히 배가 불렀지만 후식도 먹기로 했다. 잠시 후 세 번째 젊은 한 쌍이 바로 그 디저트 역할을 해 주었다. 먼저의 두 쌍과 마찬가지로, 이들도 피를몽땅 빨리고나서 다리 난간 너머 운하로 던져졌다.

흡혈귀들이 최고의 만찬을 즐겼다고 좋아하다 보니, 귀가할 시간이 되었다. 그들이 마악 떠나려는데웬 노래 소리가 들려오기 시작했다.

다리 위엔 아무도 없는데 노래가 들리다니 참 이상하단 생각이 들었는데, 알고 보니 운하에서 들려오는 것이었다.난간 너머로 내려다보니 다리 아래 물 속에서 커다란 악어 한 마리가 시체들을 가지고잔치를 벌이고 있었다.

그들이 악어의 노래에 귀를 기울이고 들어보니, ....... 그 가사인 즉.......

"♪ 피 빨린 이탈리아 연놈들이~ 자꾸자꾸만내 머리 위에 떨어지고 있다네...♬"

[악어 노래의 가사, "Drained wops keep fallin' on my head"의 발음이, 우리도 잘 아는 B J Thomas의 노래, "Raindrops keep fallin' on my head"와 거의 분간이 안 될 정도로 비슷하군요. 함 확인해 보시죠^^ = 역자]

Vampires Love Italian

Two vampires wanted to go out to eat, but were having a little trouble deciding where to go. They were a little tired of the local food in Transylvania and wanted something a little more exotic.
After some discussion, they decided to go to Italy because they had heard that Italian food was really good. So off they went to Italy and ended up in Venice.

On a bridge over one of the canals, they hid in the shadows and waited for dinner. A few minutes later they noticed a young couple walking their way. As they neared, the vampires made their move. Each vampire grabbed a person, sucked them dry and tossed the remaining bodies into the canal below.

The vampires were extremely pleased with their meal and decided to have seconds. Another young couple approached a few minutes later and suffered the same fate as the first-sucked dry and tossed into the canal below.

Our vampires are now fairly full but decide to get dessert. In a short while a third young couple provides just that. As with the first two couples, these people were also sucked dry and tossed over the rail into the canal.

The vampires decided that they had had a marvelous dinner but that it was time to head back home. As they started to walk away they began to hear some singing.

They were puzzled because no one else was on the bridges. As they listened, they realized that it was coming from the canal. They looked over the rail and saw a big alligator in the water under the bridge, feasting on the bodies.

They listened as the alligator sang, ............
