작년 호주 멜버른의 한 “Amoco” 석유회사 크리스마스 파티에서 있었던 실화인데, 습관적으로 아무에게나 심한 농담을 하는 한 상사에게 부하 직원들이못된 장난을 하나 꾸미기로 하였다. 상관이 화장실에 간 사이, 부하들이 그의 지갑을 뒤져보니 Tatts 로또복권표가 있었다. 그들은 그 숫자들을 베껴 적어 놓고는 웨이트리스를 불러 조그만 골탕을 먹일 계획을 세웠다.

30분 후 웨이트리스가 돌아와서, 혹시 그날 밤의 로또 당첨번호를 알고 싶은 분이 계시냐고 묻더니 이어서 큰 소리로 읽어주고는 그 숫자들을 식탁에 놓아두고 갔다. 상사는 그 숫자들을 보고 있다가 무심코 자기의 복권 표를 지갑에서 꺼내어 대조를 해 보았다. 그는 아연 침묵하며 지갑을 재킷에 도로 넣고는 다시 앉아서 그 숫자들을 아주 면밀히 체크하였다.

이윽고 술잔을 확 비우더니, 의자 위에 올라서서 홀 안의 모든 사람에게 외치는 것이었다;

"당신들 모두에게 알리고 싶은 게 있다. 나는 여러 달 동안 여비서와 (부적절한) 관계를 가져왔다. 난 당신들 중 누구도 좋아하지 않으며, 이따위 회사에 근무하는 것도 신물이 난다. 모두 다 지옥에나 가거라. 난 방금 똥 벼락같은 대박이 터져, 이제 떠나신다 이 말씀이야."

Always check your lotto numbers!

This is a true story from an Amoco Christmas party in Australia last year.

At a Christmas party in Melbourne last year the staff decided to pull a practical joke on their boss who had a habit of playing serious jokes on everyone else.

When he went to the toilet, they went through his wallet and found his Tatts Lotto Ticket. Then, they wrote down his numbers and called over the waitress to set up a little prank.

She came back half an hour later and asked if anyone wanted to know the night's Lotto numbers then proceeded to read them out aloud, before setting the numbers on the table.

The boss looked at the numbers, then casually pulled out his from his wallet and compared them. He became really silent, put his wallet back in his jacket and sat down again, and checked the numbers, very carefully.

Then, he sculled his drink, stood up on his chair and shouted out to the whole room,

"I just want to let you all know something. I've been having an affair with my secretary for months. I don't like any of you, and I have hated working for this company. You can all go to Hell, cause I've just won a shit-load of money, and I'm leaving."

End of job.
