어느 여섯 살 꼬마가 자기 학교 선생님에게 자기 집에 동생 아기가 생길 예정이라고 노상 떠벌여 온지 여러 주일이 되었다.

하루는 엄마가 그에게 태어나기 전의 아기가 움직이는 것을 만져보도록 해주었다. 여섯 살 배기는 강한 인상을 받은 것이 분명하였지만 아무 말도 하지 않았다. 뿐만 아니라, 이제 곧 다가올 사건(동생 출현)에 관하여 선생님께 이야기하는 것도 그만 두었다.

Baby on the Way

For weeks, a 6-year old lad kept telling his first-grade teacher about the baby brother or sister that was expected at his house.

One day the mother allowed the boy to feel the movements of the unborn child. The 6-year old was obviously impressed, but he made no comment. Furthermore, he stopped telling his teacher about the impending event.

The teacher finally sat the boy on her lap and said, "Tommy, whatever become of that baby brother or sister you were expecting at home?"

Tommy burst into tears and confessed, "I think Mommy ate it!"
